LifeGift Continues to Serve While Navigating Hurricane Beryl
July 8, 2024LifeGift is fully operational as we all work through this latest weather disaster together. Thanks to our dedicated staff and leaders, hospitals and transplant teams, we’re managing to provide donation and transplant services as we always do, 24/7 365 days per year.
The LifeGift team is thinking of our Houston communities as we deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. You’re in our thoughts and prayers as we navigate power outages, storm damage to homes, downed trees and power lines. Please stay safe and dry as the storm leaves our area.
We’re sharing community resources from our friend Christina Morales – Representative TX District 145: If you need immediate shelter assistance, contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS (733-2767) or visit redcross.org. For a list of active shelters, check the Texas Division of Emergency Management shelter page or call 211. The State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) helps residents provide information to emergency officials for safe evacuation or life-sustaining aid. Register online at texasstear.org or call 211.
Power: Because of the dangerous weather situation, CenterPoint work crews are unable to begin any repairs until it is safe to do so. Be sure to enroll in CenterPoint’s Power Alert Service to receive outage details, estimated restoration times and community-specific restoration updates. Alerts can be received via phone call, text message or email. https://www.centerpointenergy.com/…/power-outage-alerts…
Report wind and water damage to 311 or via the 311 app.
