LifeGift Participates in Morales Memorial Foundation’s 2nd Annual College and Career Day Event

On Saturday, February 11^th LifeGift had the privilege of participating in the Morales Memorial Foundation’s College and Career Day event at Moody Park located in Houston’s east side. It was a pleasure working alongside all sponsors and organizers including State Representative Christina Morales.

The annual event with more than 20 vendors provided attendees with the opportunity to explore numerous college and career options. In addition to sharing information with participants, there were activities, refreshments, a mariachi band and several raffles including a chance to win a new car.

LifeGift’s Claude Von Holden, manager of talent acquisition, and Leslie Meigs, Houston community engagement specialist, hosted a LifeGift table and provided information with attendees. “We were able to share how LifeGift offers hope to the thousands of people in Texas and beyond who need life-saving organ and tissue transplants with event attendees in Houston’s east side,” shared Von Holden. “This event also provided us with the opportunity to share LifeGift career opportunities with the community.”

“Attendees were mainly families who visited LifeGift’s registration table and were able to learn more about LifeGift and donation,” added Meigs. “There also were many students interested in volunteer opportunities with our Ambassadors of Hope volunteer program.”

LifeGift looks forward to collaborating with the Morales Memorial Foundation in the future to honor the gift of donation and help save the lives of those waiting for a second chance at life.
